Nesio is often called the "Shattered Continent" due to the scale of the island chains that the kingdom is comprised of. The entirety of the kingdom is ruled by an oligarchy, but their position is not much more than a name. This is because the island is split into multiple provinces/city-states, depending on how many islands each governs, and every province has their own set of laws and traditions. Be sure you aren't adverse to the sea and open ocean when you carve your own path from island to island. Welcome to the kingdom of Nesio. This is the world of my DnD Campaign! This will most likely be updated every session where worldbuilding is needed. ^^

Talat is a city-state comprised of one very large central island, and some four or five smaller, craggy formations surrounding it. The waters around the island are notoriously rocky and turbulent, and Talat is known for its rich lumber and impenetrable verdant forests -definitely not a city-state with beautiful beaches. The heart of Talat is, well, Talat; a massive, sprawling city filled to the brim with a myriad of people and tourists from all areas, all races, all everything, nestled in the centre of carved out trees.
The only entrances into Talat are a few -notably very well marked and traveled- inlets that bypass the dense forests and various small farming communities and straight to the heart of the city state. The city-state is relatively self-reliant and has massive, flourishing marketplaces. Their only notable export is lumber, and while the main city is too much of a melting plot to have a dominant religion, the farmlands interspersed all predominantly worship Meilikki, patron goddess of the forest, thanking her for allowing them to till in her domain.
The underbelly of the beast is a different story. Talat's most well known moniker is as the city of entertainment. When the sun sets, the heart of the city-state truly comes alive, revealing its prolific gambling rings, brothels, a sprawling black market, even mercenary guilds with a reputation of doing anything, as long as the price is right. Lumber might help, but the lifeblood of the city is the dirty money that flows through the city in a veritable flood.
*map/art will go here once I get off my ass and draw it*
