── HOW TO PLAY ──
getting started
If this is your first time here, which it probably is if you are reading this, then here's what to do for your first post.
I want you to describe your trainer. You can have an image, you can describe them. If you want, you can add favorite things, and things they hate. All these will help me determine which Pokemon will be your starter, which, if you haven't figured that out yet, will NOT be one of the traditional regional starters, unless you just happen to perfectly match up to one.
getting more pokemon
Now, you aren't going to be the very best by having only one Pokemon, you're going to need more. There are five ways to get new Pokemon. [1] You could discover one while on a search [2] You and a Friend could trade [3] You could hatch an egg [4] Two of your Pokemon could be in the same egg group, and have an egg together, though this is extremely rare, or [5]. You could get one at the Safari Zone event
searches
Every six hours from your last post, you can go on a search. To go on a search, you can send your trainer, or even some of your Pokemon, out to search the surrounding area. Several things can happen here [1] You can find a Wild Pokemon[extremely common] [2] You can find items[semi-common] [3] You could happen upon a Trainer [rare, as you must be in the same region, at the same place], or [4] You can find a Lost Egg[extremely rare]
friends/rivals
Now, what would Pokemon be without Rivals? You need someone to challenge you, but you can also have people to support you as friends. When you first meet a trainer, there are three things you can do. [1] Battle, where either the person who replies to both of you, or one of us repliers, will do a semi-play by play. [2] You can become Friends, and exchange phone numbers, and call each other up to battle again. With friends, you can also trade [3] You can become Rivals. Rivals pretty much hate eachother, and are always trying to up eachother. You can only battle when you are at the Pokemon Center at the same time. But for all three things, both people have to be in agreement. So I suggest PMing eachother to find out, do you want to friend, or rival.
pokemon centers
After a Battle, your Pokemon will automatically Heal, don't ask how, it's just the way it works. But, there are still several reasons to post your character going to a Pokemon Center. Let me explain them [1] You can meet new Trainers! Now, the Pokemon Center is rather wonky, in that...you can be in Kalos, and meet someone in Unova. As long as you, and one other trainer are at a Pokemon Center, you can meet! Heck, you could be in Kanto, and meet someone in Alola! Though you aren't likely to meet someone being replied to by a different replier, as that would just get confusing, but you can. [2] You can find abandoned Pokemon! Now, yes, you could theoretically abandon your own Pokemon for someone else to find, but you can also take in Pokemon NPCs have abandoned. [3] The Box. Come on, admit it. We need the PC, and the only place to access it in the game is at the Pokemon Center. [4] Lost Eggs. Now, this is extremely rare, but you can find eggs that were left at the Pokemon Center, either by wild Pokemon, or NPCs, or even other players.
leveling up/evolving
Now, your Pokemon are going to need to Level up, otherwise we'd all be running around with Lv. 5 Pokemon. That's where Training comes in. Now you can level up via battles, but the best way to do so is through Training. Every time you post, you can have two pokemon in your party train, and your replier will post what level they go to , and if they learn any moves. And, if your Pokemon hits the right level, comes in contact with the right stone, or the right circumstances fall, your Pokemon can Evolve! You will be given the option of evolving or not, and if there are multiple choices, you will be offered each one. Now, Pokemon who evolve through Pokemon Amie, will evolve through friendship, simply because Pokemon Amie is too complicated to incorporate at this time. Maybe someday, but for now? Friendship.
having eggs/lost eggs
If you have two Pokemon of opposite genders that are in the same Egg Group, then very[very] rarely, they could have an egg. This is extremely rare though. Also extremely rare, is finding Lost Eggs. Lost Eggs are eggs that hold a mystery Pokemon, and are abandoned by their parents, or former owners. You can find them on searches, or at a Pokemon Center, but the easiest way to get them is every time you own 5 fully evolved Pokemon[ones that don't evolve do not count] you will receive a call from Professor Oak, and a Pokemon Egg will be added to your mail, and you must claim it at the Pokemon Center.
You automatically get 1000 steps per post, so if an egg needs say...2,140 steps to hatch, it will hatch in three posts
safari zone event
Next Event; Tuesday March 28th
Once a Week, usually on Tuesdays, you can post your character entering the Safari Zone Event. At the Event, you will receive a random Pokemon of a certain type, depending on the region you are in. Kanto trainers will receive a Flying Type, Johto trainers will receive a Psychic Type, Hoenn trainers will receive a Dark Type, Sinnoh trainers will receive a Ground Type, Unova Trainers will receive a Dragon type, Kalos trainers will receive a Fairy type, and Alola trainers will receive a Water type.
Your post for the Safari Event must be up between 12:00 AM PST and 11:59 PM PST or it will be invalid
[PST = Pacific Summer Time]
regional features
Every region has a different 'special feature' you can gain when first arriving there,or starting there. Here's the grand list. If you are in a region, but don't have it's special feature, or you have traveled and not received the feature of the one you traveled to or from, feel free to automatically add the regional feature to your inventory.
KANTO - Pokemon Friendship Meter - Can be used once a post, used to measure the amount of friendship you have with your Pokemon [-50 being the lowest, 250 being highest]
JOHTO - Pokeetch - Can be used whenever - A glorified watch that lets you make calls outside of a Pokemon Center, as well as listen to the radio
HOENN - DexNav - Can be used once a week - An item that goes into your Pokedex that let's you find Pokemon with Egg moves and Hidden Abilities
SINNOH - Pokepuff Maker - Can be used once every three posts - An Item that, if you place berries inside, makes Pokepuffs!
UNOVA - Name Changer - Can be used once a post - An item that allows you to change the name of your Pokemon! But you can't change the same pokemon's name twice in a row, you need to wait at least 4 posts before you do another change on that Pokemon
KALOS - Mobile Adaptor - Can be used once every two posts - pretty much a portable Box, that allows you to swap up your Pokemon Team from anywhere in the world.
ALOLA - Z-Ring - Can be used once during battle, if you have a pokemon + move compatible - An item that lets you use Z-Moves
post format
Please use this from your second post onwards, as it makes things easier for the mods to see what you have, and what they can do. You can edit it, but please leave the base code.
