Earth, in the not-so-distant future. The polar ice caps have melted, submerging coastal cities everywhere. Nuclear war has decimated many great cities and an insidious pandemic has wiped out most of humanity. There are only about 500 million people left in the world now, and all of them are having to survive in a hostile world of violent storms near the coasts and great deserts at the center of most continents. The only upside is new futuristic tech that allows humans to live in small dome cities and 3D print new bodies for themselves. Because of this, some people have begun to look like anthropomorphic animals and other things like that.
Many animals have also died out, mutated, or rapidly evolved to their new environments with new and horrific creatures taking over like Blood Lions in Africa, giant bats in the amazon, mutant sharks around Australia, and mutant deer all over the world.
