The cool breeze had been quite pleasing to Ash, as he had just came back from his hunt. The tom
had brought back a couple mice and a shrew from the edges of the Thunderclan borders, Ash
had been waiting for the beautiful she-cat almost all morning. And when he hadn't even caug
ht the slightest whiff of her scent, he had decided to come back a bit later. The tom understood
that Russetflower had her duties as the deputy of Thunderclan, and that she was probably quite
busy, either marking the clan borders or planning patrols, or maybe she was just relaxing? Was
she thinking of him? Ash wouldn't know until they met again. For now, all he could do was wa
it, he had set his head down, the weight pressing down on his paws, his exhales ruffled the fur o
f his front legs that were strained from the running he had done this morning. The refreshing scent
of rain and pine had calmed his senses,his eyelids were weighed down by the comfort of sleep, his
breaths had slowed, along with his heart, signifying that he was closer to the fuzzy feelings of dream
ing, he was drifting off into the shallow pools of memories.
The tom awakened, his thoughts still slowed from the nap he had taken, stretching his back into pecu
liar positions, ones most cats hadn't thought of, he heard his joints pop, the stiffness of his muscles h
ad receded, giving him the energy and flexibility to run what Ash thought, was thousands of more mil
es. Shaking out his dusted fur, he had begun to groom himself, his rough, sandpaper tongue had skim
med over his pelt, stroking every patch of fur down. Once he finished, he glanced up at the sky, the sun
was beginning to set, it was time to go see her, Russetflower. The tom began by trotting in the direction
of Thunderclan, soon he was sprinting, as fast as his legs could carry him. He soon began to gain rhythm
the thud of his paws began to join to create a familiar sound, thud thud thud, thud thud thud. It urged him to
go faster, to arrive quicker, it felt as if he couldn't go fast enough, his heart raced, ears bent back, tail straig
ght behind him. He had one thing on his mind, Russetflower...
